What is the Initiative for Food Security and Nutrition PERUSAN?

PERUSAN, the Initiative for Food Security and Nutrition, is a collective of civil society institutions and specialists in Peru. Its mission is to contribute to the country’s development by promoting improvements in Food Security and Nutrition (FSN). PERUSAN takes an integrated approach considering availability, access, utilization, stability, and institutional aspects. It aims to be inclusive, covering all Peruvians and all regions of the country. The initiative analyzes and generates policy proposals, advocating for change among authorities and decision-makers.

PERUSAN informs the population, through social media, about Food security and nutrition, sustainable food systems, and healthy eating habits. Their goal is to educate and promote better eating practices within families.

Currently, we are a coalition of 22 institutions and eight specialists working toward the same objective:  Peru with Food Security and Nutrition, more sustainable food systems, free from anemia and malnutrition.
